The time it takes for your plaster to dry will depend on the unique specifications of your project. For entire walls, you should wait at least 10 - 14 days before applying paint, including your mist coat. Walls with two to three layers of plaster can take longer. For an accurate estimate, it's best to talk to the professional team at EVE Plasterers. Our friendly team can assess your project and give you an accurate timeline.
The average cost of a plastering a room in the UK is usually between £15 to £25 an hour. This works out to be about £150 to £200 a day. However, the actual cost of your plastering project will come down to your specific needs as well as the needs of your property. For an accurate quote, it's best to contact your local plasterers who can assess your project.
Although plastering over wallpaper is possible, most professional plasterers do not recommend it. Plaster requires a tacky, adhesive surface to bond with. Wallpaper is very dry, and does not provide the optimal surface for plastering.
Before painting your walls, your plaster needs to be fully dry. Depending on how many layers of plaster there are and how many walls have been plastered, you may need to wait at least 4 - 6 weeks before painting.
